*English followed Japanese

Project at Nakacho House
How do you feel like being here?
The term “here” carries broader implications beyond mere physicality, encompassing temporal dimensions and potentially more. By posing this question, we intend to create a platform for exploring the subjective experience of “here”. We aim to foster discussions concerning the realization of ideas, the salient aspects we identify, and the personal emotions and concerns that may diverge among us despite sharing this common environment. This exchange will be facilitated through the collaborative creation of zines, where each participant contributes to a collective narrative. These individual zines will be curated into a crafted archival book employing bookbinding techniques and will be showcased at Nakacho House, offering continuous accessibility for viewing and reflection regardless of the passage of time.

Ima Hikmatul Hasnah is a self-taught visual artist from Jakarta, Indonesia. Currently, she is a research student at Tokyo University of the Arts. Exploring human connections, sensitivity, and subconsciousness serves as the wellspring of her inspiration. Engaging with diverse communities and channeling her voice through Zines is a natural and joyful mode of expression for her. Previously, she has collaborated on Zine workshops with Performance Lab Geidai and participated in the Stillive Studies program organised by the performance platform “Stilllive” for their residency at YAU Studio. In the current transition from late summer to early autumn, Hasnah together with the ここから。。。collective, intends to facilitate another Zine workshop aimed at eliciting and capturing the ideas, reflections, and expressions of the visitors of Nakacho House.
