展示について
日本に暮らす海外ルーツの人びとの文化背景を紹介する「イミグレーション・ミュージアム・東京」。今年も昨年に引き続き多国籍美術展を開催します。
今年のタイトル「Cultural BYO…ね！」のBYO（Bring Your Own）とは、英語圏でパーティーやレストランに飲み物などを自由に持ち込めることを意味しています。多国籍美術展では、まさに本来のBYOにならって海外ルーツの人びとに自由に応募していただきました。集まったのは絵画や工芸、映像もあれば、伝統音楽や思い出のスパイスを使った料理など、実にさまざまな作品と日々の生活の結晶です。そして、本展ではその作品や表現の全てを展示します。
持ち寄られた作品や表現の背景にある彼ら/彼女らの生活に想いを馳せながら、みなさまにとって人びとと作品・表現と、そして文化と新たに出会う場となることを試みます。
会期中イベント
■多国籍美術展「アーティスト・トーク」
展示オープン初日と2日目は参加アーティストたちによるアーティスト・トークを開催！。作品にこめられた思いや裏話など、アーティスト本人から伺えるスペシャルな日です！IMM東京主宰の岩井も参加し、参加アーティストと一緒に作品についてあれこれ語ります。ぜひふらりとお立ち寄りください。

■絵本『神戸・長田のちいさな子守唄』朗読会
【寝ても大丈夫。子どもから大人まで歓迎！】
神戸・長田にゆかりのある多様なルーツを持つ人たちの子守唄やそれらにまつわる思い出から生まれた『神戸・長田のちいさな子守唄』は、優しいタッチで描かれた絵と厚みのある文章が、エピソードの語り手を鮮やかに映し出す絵本です。
今回は仲町の家を舞台に絵本の読み聞かせをします。私たちが出会った人たちの思い出と子守唄を聴きながら、ゆったりとものがたりを味わってみませんか。

■モンゴル民謡長歌（オルティーンドー）演奏会
モンゴル固有の民謡「オルティーンドー」を演奏します。「オルティーンドー」は、直訳すれば「長い歌」という意味で、息の長い発声をしながら高音を強調する歌い方です。多国籍美術展では馬頭琴の演奏にあわせて歌います。

■ペッフテラン(Pehtran: スロベニアのハーブ): experimental baking workshop
故郷を思い出す特別な味はありますか？香りはどんなものでしょうか？
私が東京に来て間もない頃、故郷の村でとれた乾燥したペッフテラン（英語：tarragon、日本語：タラゴン）を母が送ってくれました。スロベニアでは、伝統的にこのハーブを使ってお菓子をつくります。仲町の家のキッチンで、ペッフテラン・クッキーを焼いてみましょう。どんな故郷の思い出を語り合うのでしょうか。はたしてハーブの香りはするでしょうか？そして何より、オーブントースターでできるでしょうか？ワークショップが終わったあとクッキーはお持ち帰りいただけます。ぜひお家で食べてみてください！

■ポットルックツアー
今回のテーマ「Cultural BYO…ね！」（BYO: Bring Your Own 持ち寄る）にならって、みんなの視点・価値観を持ち寄って作品を楽しく味わうツアー。作品をじっくりみて、参加者それぞれが感じたこと・考えたことをおしゃべりしながら、2〜3作品を鑑賞します。視点を持ち寄れば、新たな発見があること間違いなし！？

仲町の家とは…足立区千住仲町エリアにある古い日本家屋です。日本家屋と、緑あふれる庭が広がる空間になっています。現在はまちの文化サロンとして開かれています。 北千住駅1番出口より徒歩8分、西口より徒歩10分（東京メトロ千代田線・日比谷線／JR常磐線／東武スカイツリーライン／つくばエクスプレス）
監修：岩井成昭(美術家／イミグレーション・ミュージアム・東京 主宰)
1990年代から多文化状況をテーマに、欧州、豪州、東南アジアにおける調査を進める。2010年からはプロジェクトベースの「イミグレーションミュージアム・東京」を主宰。その一方で拠点を秋田に置き、秋田公立美術大学大学院複合芸術研究科の新設に参与したほか「辺境芸術」を標榜するなどさまざまな活動を並行して進めている。秋田公立美術大学教授、東京藝術大学非常勤講師。
IMM東京とは
国内に在留する海外ルーツの人びとの日本での日常生活に焦点をあてたアートプロジェクトです。「ミュージアム」という名称でありながら施設を持たず、足立区の空き店舗や教会、古民家などを転々と移動しながら、そのとき限りの体験ができる展示やイベントを展開してきました。本企画は「アートアクセスあだち 音まち千住の縁（音まち）」の一プログラムです。
音まちとは
「アートアクセスあだち 音まち千住の縁」とは 足立区にアートを通じた新たなコミュニケーション（縁）を生み出すために、足立区・東京藝術大学音楽学部/大学院国際芸術創造研究科・NPO法人音まち計画が主催する市民参加型の「まちなかアートプロジェクト」です。

Statement
”Immigration Museum Tokyo” introduces the cultural background of people with backgrounds overseas living in Japan. This year, continuing from last year, we will hold a multinational art exhibition.
This year’s title, “Cultural BYO…Ne!” refers to the custom of BYO (Bring Your Own) mainly in English-speaking countries, where people bring their own drinks and other items to parties and restaurants. With this exhibit, people with overseas backgrounds brought together their creations, based on this concept, to their own will. The works gathered here include paintings, crafts, videos, traditional music, dishes made with memorable spices etc.; this truly is a crystallization of a wide variety of artwork and daily life. This will be a setting for all of these works and expressions to be shown.
We hope that this exhibition will be a place for you to encounter the people, their works and expressions, and their culture in a new way, while thinking about the lives and the creativity behind each item.

■BYO Artist Talk
On the first and second days of the exhibition opening, we will hold artist talks by the exhibiting artists. The director of IMM Tokyo, Shigeaki Iwai, will join them to talk with the artists and their works. Let’s join us!

■A picture book “The little lullaby in Kobe and Nagata” storytelling
Maybe you would fall asleep… Both children and adults are welcome!
“The little lullaby in Kobe and Nagata‘’ is a picture book we created from lullabies of people with various cultural roots in Nagata, Kobe and their memories about the lullabies. Its combination of gentle illustrations and rich text enables us to see the teller of the episode in a vivid way.
We will have a storytelling session in Nakacho House. Feel free to join us to enjoy the story while listening to the memories of the people we have met and their lullabies.

■“Urtyn duu(The traditional long song of Mongolia)” concert
The performance will feature “Urtyn duu”, a Mongolian folk song. “Urtyn duu” means “long song” in Mongolian, and is sung with a long breath and emphasis on high notes. At Nakacho house, the singing will be accompanied by the Matouqin.

■ペッフテラン(Pehtran: a Slovenian Herb): experimental baking workshop
Is there a particular taste that reminds you of home? How about a smell?
Just after I came to Tokyo, my mother sent me a packet of dried pehtran(English: tarragon, Japanese: タラゴン) from my home village. In Slovenia, we traditionally use this herb to bake sweet treats.
Come and join me as I try to bake some pehtran cookies in the kitchen of Nakacho House.What memories of home will we tell each other? Will we be able to smell the herb? And most importantly: can we do it in a toaster oven?
You can take a cookie home with you to try after the workshop!

■Potlook Tour
“Cultural BYO…Ne!” (BYO: Bring Your Own), this is a tour to enjoy and appreciate artworks by bringing your own viewpoints and values. We will look at two or three artworks while chatting about what each participant felt and thought about them. If you bring your own viewpoints, you are sure to gain new discoveries!

*Nakacho House is an old Japanese-style home with a lush garden, open to the public as a cultural salon of the Senju area of Adachi City, Tokyo. 8-min. walk from Kitasenju Sta. Exit 1, 10-min walk from West Exit (Tokyo Metro Chiyoda and Hibiya Lines, JR Joban Line, Tobu Skytree Line, Tsukuba Express Line)
Direction: Shigeaki Iwai (Artist; Director, Immigration Museum Tokyo)
Since the 1990s, Iwai has been researching the state of multiculturalism in Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia. Since 2010, he has been directing the project-based Immigration Museum Tokyo. Alongside these activities, Iwai is involved in various other activities from his base of Akita, including his involvement in establishing the Graduate School of Transdisciplinary Arts at Akita University of Art, in addition to advocating for henkyō (border) art. Iwai is a professor at Akita University of Art and a part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts.
What is IMM Tokyo?
Immigration Museum Tokyo is an art project that focuses on the daily lives of people living in Japan with roots overseas. Although IMM Tokyo is called a “museum“, it does not have any facilities, and has been moving from place to place in Adachi City—including vacant stores, churches, and old houses—while developing exhibitions and events that allow visitors to experience whatever IMM Tokyo has available at the time. IMM Tokyo is held as a part of “Art Access Adachi: Downtown Senju – Connecting through Sound Art(OTOMACHI)”.
What is OTOMACHI?
“Art Access Adachi: Downtown Senju – Connecting through Sound Art” is a project which runs a variety of art programs under the theme of “sound” in cooperation with the Tokyo University of the Arts (the Faculty of Music and the Graduate School of Global Arts); OTOMACHI PROJECT (NPO); and Adachi City, which aims to create and disseminate the diverse charms of Tokyo through art projects involving local communities and citizens.
